Emily Miller
Emily has been passionate about animals her entire life, dreaming of becoming a veterinarian from a young age. She pursued her love for animal behavior and welfare at Purdue University. Emily has been with Blair Animal Clinic & Klondike Kennels since May 2015, and has had the opportunity to work in all of the departments, where she found her passion for dog training. Emily has been the Behavior & Training Coordinator since 2015, and teaching group training classes since 2020.
Her dedication to canine well-being has led her to expand her expertise into massage therapy in 2024. Combining training and massage allows her to support dogs both mentally and physically, offering a well-rounded approach to their care. Emily studied canine massage through Canis Bodyworks in Chicago, IL, completing a hybrid program that included both online coursework and hands-on training. Under the guidance of an experienced mentor with 20 years in the field, she mastered a variety of massage techniques from basic to advanced. She is now one of only two practitioners in the state to be nationally certified in canine massage therapy.
Outside of work, Emily’s life still revolves around dogs—she shares her home with two of her own. She enjoys training her German Shepherd, Riley, in sheep herding and spending quality time with her three-year-old son. When she’s not working with dogs, you can find her baking, crocheting, and staying busy with family life.
